The Wall brings together 24 stories that range from the exquisite violence of a drug trafficker who longs to be a writer to the sexual evolution of a man who, after suffering from premature ejaculation, manages to practice tantric sex and, however, continues to feel sorry for himself, going through the sudden love a woman feels for a successful underwear advertiser. In The Wall there is room for everything from the stark portrait of the envy, ignorance and resentment that animate the literary world to the psychological dalliance of a dreamer who only wakes up to commit suicide. There is room for the risky adventure of teenagers hungry for life and for the fantastic encounter of a couple with Cthulhu, the mythical character created by H.P. Lovecraft. In The Wall there is violent sex, poorly achieved and well achieved; dirty family entanglements and filmmakers of dubious quality but lucky in love; losers who become friends and explainable and unexplained murders; enlightening nightmares and narcissism laid bare. In this beautiful cocktail there is no shortage of redeemed alcoholics and paradoxical kidnappings; the exposure of corrupt politicians and the innocent impudence of naughty and unscrupulous children; collective sex and political crime and self-defense. All united by a thoughtful and at the same time shameless appreciation of reality.
